For this project, our focus was on the relationship between shelter and exposure, a house that barely interrupts the land it sits on. Designed by Patterson Associates, the residence is set into the hillside above Pigeon Bay on Banks Peninsula, its low corrugated form and warm timber interiors offering a counterpoint to the raw drama of the cliffs, sea and shifting weather beyond. The RED Raptor and RED Komodo paired with Sigma Cine Zooms let us move slowly through that contrast, from firelight and stone to mist rolling across the ridgeline. Aerials on the DJI Mavic Series pulled back to reveal just how completely the house disappears into the terrain.
