For this project, our focus was on the drama of a home that withdraws into its landscape rather than announcing itself within it. Designed by Marmol Radziner, the Mandeville Canyon residence sits deep within a lush canyon garden in Los Angeles, its dark charcoal timber exterior disappearing against the ferns, tree ferns and mature canopy pressing against every wall of glass. The RED Raptor and RED Komodo paired with Sigma Cine Zooms let us move between the dense green world at the glass and the dark, considered interiors beyond it. Aerials on the DJI Mavic Series revealed how completely the house is consumed by the canyon it sits within.
