For this project, our focus was on the obsessive craft behind one of New York's most distinctive lighting studios. Founded by Gabriel Hendifar, Apparatus occupies a world of its own in NoMad, its showroom a deeply layered environment of aged brass, dark stone and objects that sit somewhere between sculpture and light. We moved through the studio with the RED Raptor and RED Komodo paired with Sigma Cine Zooms, combining sweeping cinematic movements with handheld work to stay close to the makers and the process behind each piece. The DJI Mavic Series pulled the film out to the scale of New York, placing the studio within the city that shaped it.
